Les fêtes et festivales à Malte.
Depuis mon arrivée le 3 janvier 2009, j’ai connu deux fêtes importantes aux yeux des maltais : Carnaval et la saint valentin ! Et je peux dire que c’est deux anecdotes qui me feront toujours rigoler !
La première anecdote est carnaval ! Pour les maltais, le carnaval est le moment de se retrouver tous, de faire la fête dans une apparence, la plus originale et amusante possible. Certains même viennent à dire que ce n’est pas le carnaval de Rio mais presque ! C’est quand même un énorme évènement à Malte à absolument pas manquer selon certains collègues, c’est même un mois de préparation pour cette évènement du côté des trois villes les plus touchés par ce phénomène : La Valette, Rabat et le plus important sur l’île de Gozo. C’est une semaine d’excitation qui nous attendaient mes colocataires, ma copine et moi ! Mais la problème c’est que c’est tellement important pour les maltais, que tous les maltais posent leurs jours de congés pendant le carnaval ! Ca étaient donc une grosse désillusion pour nous qui avons dû travailler pendant que nos collègues participaient à cet évènement ! Malgrès cette désillusion, nous avons quand même décider de sortir le soir pour profiter quand même un peu du carnaval Maltai. Donc destination Paceville pour une nuit remplie en émotion et en population ! Mais finalement arrivé à Paceville, personne… à part quelques personnes perdus comme nous… Apparament pendant carnaval, la population se retrouve sur l’île de Gozo bien loin de Paceville malheureusement… C’est donc presque seules (avec quelques mal informés) que nous avons passés la soirée à Paceville. La seul satisfaction de cet soirée a été une photo avec un groupe directement arrivé de Disneyworld (cf photo) surement perdu ou mal informé de l’endroit du Carnaval à Malte…
La seconde anecdote a été la saint valentin, mes parents étaient sur Malte pendant la saint valentin, après une journée de visite nous avions décider de manger sur Saint Julian : ville réputé à Malte pour des restaurants à petit prix mais succulent. Arrivé à Saint Julian nous décidions de garer la voiture, ce qui nous a pris plus de 30 minutes, ce qui nous paraissait étrange pour Chloé et moi. Arrivé devant les restaurants, nous avions l’embarras du choix : Paparazzi, Dolce Vite, Chez ToTo, … des restaurants très branchés et très bon selon le guide du routard … Mais malgré l’envie d’un bon restaurant, nous n’avons pas pu rentré dans aucun des restaurants, complet complet et complet pour cause de saint valentin ! Après avoir essayer tous les restaurants de la côte, c’est à PIZZA HUT que nous avions finalement fini apparemment il y a toujours de la place à Pizza HUT …
Après ces deux anecdotes, deux semaines plus tard mon collègues me disaient de faire attention parce que toutes fêtes sont très importantes à Malte. Je le serais pour la prochaine fois…
Since my arrival on January 3rd, 2009, I knew two important festivals with the eyes of the Malteses: Carnival and it holy Valentine! And I can say that these is two anecdotes which will always make me laugh!
The first anecdote is carnival! For the Malteses, the carnival is the moment to find all, to have fun the festival in the appearance, most original and amusing possible. Some even have suddenly said that it is not the carnival of Rio but almost! It is nevertheless an enormous event in Malta with absolutely not missing according to certain colleagues, it is even a month of preparation for this event on the side of the three cities the most touched by this phenomenon: Valetta, the most important Reduction and on the island of Gozo. It is one week of excitation which awaited us my joint tenants, my girlfriend and me! But the problem it is that it is so important for the Malteses, that all the Malteses pose their days off during the carnival! That were thus a large disillusion for we who had to work while our colleagues took part in this event! Malgrès this disillusion, we have nevertheless to decide to leave the evening to benefit nevertheless a little from the Maltai carnival. Thus Paceville destination for one night filled in emotion and population! But finally arrived at Paceville, anybody… except for some people lost like us… Apparament during carnival, the population is found on the island of Gozo well far from Paceville unfortunately… They is thus almost alone (with some evil informed) that we passed the evening to Paceville. Only the satisfaction of this evening was a photograph with a group directly arrived of Disneyworld (photo cf) surely lost or badly informed of the place of the Carnival at Malta…
The second anecdote was it holy Valentine, my parents were on Malta during the Valentine saint, after one day of visit we had to decide to eat on Saint Julian: city considered in Malta for restaurants at low-costs but succulent. Arrived at Saint Julian we decided to park the car, which took to us more than 30 minutes, which appeared strange to us for Chloé and me. Arrived in front of the restaurants, we had the embarrassment of the choice: Paparazzi, Dolce Quickly, In Louse,… of the restaurants very connected and very good according to the guide of the hitchhiker… But in spite of the desire of a restoring good, we could not returned in none the restaurants, complete complete and complete due to Valentine saint! After having to test all the restaurants of the coast, it is in Pizza Hut that we had finally finished apparently there is always place with Pizza Hut…
After these two anecdotes, two weeks later my colleagues said to me to pay attention because all festivals are very important in Malta. I would be it for the next time…
